The General Students’ Committee (AStA) of HTW Berlin is looking for motivated support in system administration as a student assistant (m/f/d), starting on 1 October 2026.What does system administration involve?
In system administration, you will take care of the digital infrastructure of the student body. From maintaining and documenting IT systems to modernising the server environment, you will be the central point of contact for all technical challenges.Your responsibilities:
- Administration of hardware and services such as:
- Univention and OpenLDAP, mail servers and Nextcloud
- Proxmox virtualisation servers
- Linux and Windows endpoints
- Triumph-Adler print service and printer maintenance
- Maintaining network documentation and the IT inventory
- Supporting the continued development of the IT infrastructure
- Managing Linux servers (Ubuntu), Docker containers and web technologies such as WordPress, PHP and MySQL
- Maintaining and supporting smaller services such as Zammad, Pretix, Wazuh and Bitwarden

What we are looking for:
- Knowledge of administering IT systems and servers
- Experience with Linux and Windows systems
- A structured and independent approach to work
- Interest in the continued development of IT structures
- Good German and English language skills
Working hours and benefits:
- 8–12 hours per week; availability for at least one year is desirable
- Pay of 15,08 EUR per hour in accordance with TV Stud III
- Flexible working hours and the option of hybrid work
