The General Student Committee of HTW Berlin (a public corporation) is the executive body of student self-government at the HTW Berlin (a statutory body). Alongside the Student Parliament and the Student General Assembly, it is one of the central bodies of the organized student body. The organized student body is laid down in the Berlin University Act. The AStA is legally represented by its chairperson.

The HTW Berlin is a public corporation and at the same time a state institution. It is legally represented by the President.
