Dear students,
After you voted in favor of continuing the bike-sharing program in July, we now have some news for you about the bike-sharing stations starting in the 2025/26 winter semester.
After receiving relevant feedback, we have redesigned the rental stations in collaboration with Nextbike. Starting in the winter semester, there will be five new stations spread across the entire Wilhelminenhof campus. However, the station at the campus entrance will be removed again, as bicycles were repeatedly parked on the sidewalk instead of behind the property fence, which led to complaints.
To replace the station at the entrance, car parking spaces will be repurposed so that you can still conveniently arrive and depart from the entrance area. Planning for this is already underway, so everything should be ready to go at the start of the 2025/26 winter semester. Please make sure not to place the bikes on the sidewalk in front of the entrance in the app, otherwise you may incur additional fees, over which we have no control.
